Artist Statement

Eduardo Lopez creates contemporary figurative paintings exploring memory, Mexican-American identity, and the psychological effects of modern life. Through surreal realism and narrative symbolism, his work turns familiar experiences into stories that invite viewers to see themselves in the painting.

Eduardo received a Bachelor of Fine Art from the Art Institute of
Chicago. He has notably created murals for Second City Chicago Theatre,
The APO Cultural Center in Pilsen, and has shown work in galleries
throughout the country.
